Traveling to Europe - Jet Lag Tip
After years of experience in handling long flights and time changes, I recommend having a plan for your first night after arriving from the US. Arrival times are usually morning to early afternoon. Hopefully you were able to stay hydrated and get some sleep on the airplane.
After settling into your accommodations and freshening up it is best to complete a full day and go to bed before midnight. This will ensure you can sleep your first night and wake up ready for day two. Maybe it is just a walk and light meal. The trick is not to go to bed too early or collapse on arrival. If you can get tickets to an Opera at the beautiful National Theater it is a fabulous way to start your trip!
Focus on a country - Emersion
The cities and villages in Germany are very different from each other. I highly recommend a trip dedicated just to Germany to get a well rounded picture of what it offers in natural resources, arts and science, architecture, recreation and political perspectives.
My favorite city to begin a trip through Germany is Munich. You can find nonstop service from the US and the arrival process is extremely smooth, efficient and friendly. The outdoor markets in summer and winter are filled with seasonal specialities that touch all your senses.
Choosing a private guide can really improve the quality of your trip. Local in-country guides are experts in the specific area you are visiting. They provide language translation, answer questions and share stories. They know when and where to go to various locations to optimize the experience, beat crowds, or simply get you through ticketing and boarding processes. If any member of your party has mobility issues they have special access to drop off points and know how to avoid standing in lines or shortening walks to ensure nothing is missed.
If you can’t afford this type of pampering for your entire trip you can arrange for it at selected locations.
Even though private guides usually book for a certain block of time you can be more flexible with how you use that time . Maybe you are running late or want to spend more time at point B and eliminate point C . You decide based on how you feel on any given day.
Lastly, if you have any concerns about maneuvering in a non English speaking country this is a perfect solution. New... Life......Travel
